Inside The Eldapoint Group’s journey to becoming a multidisciplinary infrastructure leader

Focusing on reliable delivery, resilience, and long-term customer partnerships, The Eldapoint Group (Eldapoint) is a UK-based manufacturing and engineering group serving critical infrastructure and regulated sectors. Having grown through the acquisition and integration of specialist businesses, the group comprises five best-in-class companies: JS Burgess, TF Jackson, GWR Engineering, Fibaform GRP, and Eldapoint. Together, the companies provide a complete engineering solution and complementary capabilities to a large range of customers and sectors.

The group manufactures GRP gatehouses and enclosures, modular buildings, anti-vandal units, and container conversions in which people can work, relax, shop, learn, and sleep. Eldapoint’s cabinets and enclosures are known for protecting critical communication and electrical control equipment across the UK’s rail and road networks. The company presses and forms tough steel into waste containers, stillages and cages and provide a full depot service for shipping containers. Eldapoint’s shipping container depots are strategically located near major ports to enable quick turnaround times and onward shipping and provide essential hubs for storing, maintaining, and repairing containers.

Tim Wright, Group Chief Commercial Officer, joins us to elaborate on the evolution of Eldapoint. “Operating as one group has provided scale, shared supply chain leverage, and the ability to deliver collaborative solutions across multiple disciplines, as well as enabling knowledge, systems, and best practices to be shared quickly,” Tim opens. “Communicating early, being humble, building trust, and co-creating a forward plan are key to any successful acquisition.

“However, while there are many benefits in operating together, there are always challenges, particularly integrating a new business into a group structure. When you consider an acquisition, you know a business is good on paper with positive synergies and shared values, but you can never fully understand the differences in culture, processes, and people capability until you have acquired it, got past the inevitable sale, and delved into operations.”

Eldapoint operates six UK manufacturing sites, each with specialist production and servicing capabilities, and the business is steadily adopting automation, digital planning, and data led production tools where they provide clear operational and quality benefits.

Unlocking value

With a vision to strengthen its value proposition, Eldapoint is passionate about continuous improvement, with four key focus areas: cross-selling, product and range improvement, a best-in-class approach to customer service, and sales generation. “Firstly, considering we’re a collection of businesses with closely associated products, markets, and customers, cross selling our full portfolio of products is proving to be an attractive proposition to our customer base,” Tim explains. “The aim is to simplify engagement with customers and improve consistency across the group, and we’ve found that having fewer customers with a higher share works better for both us and them.

“We’ve invested in an innovation manager for the group, with a core focus on improving our range with new products, extending and value engineering our current product range, and embracing the need to move towards more planet friendly products in both the manufacturing process and full product life cycle. At Eldapoint, innovation isn’t an isolated activity, but rather embedded in everything we do, driven by a combination of market awareness, structured processes, and continuous improvement in how we design, manufacture, and deliver our solutions.

“We believe the best ideas start with real world needs, and our commercial team plays a crucial role in identifying emerging opportunities and challenges across the sectors we serve,” he adds. “Then, to turn opportunities into commercially viable products, we follow a development framework to control project risks, allocate resources effectively across the group, and ensure each concept is rigorously evaluated. Alongside new product developments, we constantly look for incremental improvements in the way we design, engineer, and manufacture. Whether it’s adopting more efficient design tools, revising processes, standardizing product ranges across the group, or improving thermal, structural, or fire performance, we focus on every marginal gain that can give our products a competitive edge.

“However, innovation isn’t just about keeping up, but also predicting client needs to stay ahead of the curve. We do this by constantly monitoring advancements through long-term supplier and customer relationships, sharing expertise across the group, and investing in new tools including design automation technologies. This ensures that we remain at the forefront of our industry, delivering high quality products, innovative, safe, and efficient solutions for our customers.

“In terms of service, we work very closely with our customers to find out what matters to them and how we can improve services,” Tim says. “Our aim is to make our customers’ lives simpler and to help them be more successful; if they win, we win, and if we are the easiest supplier to trade with, we also hope to take a greater share of their business. Lastly, sales generation is split between marketing and our sales teams, but no matter how good your sales and marketing teams are, their delivery is very much enhanced when they have a powerful value proposition supporting them.”

Recognizing that all customers have varying budgets and product requirements, Eldapoint has renewed its pricing strategy to deliver great value across multiple customers. “We now offer a structured set of tiered price points, which allows customers to self-select based on specific requirements and budget,” Tim elaborates. “In some cases, this is executed via a broader range of entry, mid, and premium products, with clear differences in features, service levels, or quantities. We also offer savings like bulk buy discounts and kitting formats to high-volume customers who help drive efficiencies within our own operation. Whichever route our customer wants to go, we will always be transparent and ensure great value is always a given 100 percent of the time.”

Integrated expansion

As Eldapoint continues to build on its foundation of specialized manufacturing capabilities, the group remains committed to delivering solutions that meet the evolving needs of the sectors it serves. With a focus on enhanced cross-collaboration and deep customer partnerships, Eldapoint will continue to streamline operations for its customers while maintaining high standards of quality and reliability.

“2026 is focused on controlled growth, efficient production, delivery reliability, and consistent execution,” Tim concludes as we ask what the future holds for Eldapoint. “We have a lot of positive change initiatives within our organization and see a strong pipeline of opportunity. In five years, we aim to be recognized as a trusted UK manufacturing partner for complex, multi-disciplined infrastructure projects, which we’ll achieve through deep integration across the group, a greater share of high value work, and organic growth alongside M&A.”
