DHL Group, one of the largest logistics companies globally, has entrusted Kunar with leading its North American division at a time marked by market expansion and acquisitions. Kunar will now oversee operations across the United States and Canada, managing a workforce of 52,000 associates and continuing the company’s push for growth under the DHL Strategy 2030 roadmap.

Mark Kunar’s three-decade journey inside DHL

Mark Kunar’s career trajectory within DHL Supply Chain highlights steady growth through various operational and leadership roles. Starting as a financial analyst in 1996, he advanced through finance, commercial, and strategic positions before stepping into his most recent role as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Strategy Officer.

During his tenure, Kunar has been instrumental in shaping the region’s strategic direction. Under his guidance, the North American business has strengthened its sector focus and expanded product offerings to meet evolving supply chain demands. His experience aligns closely with DHL’s strategy of scaling its contract logistics services and innovating operations for customers across industries.

Driving growth through acquisitions and integration

One of Kunar’s priorities will be steering the integration of several recent acquisitions. Since January 2025, DHL Supply Chain North America has added Inmar Supply Chain Solutions, a prominent returns solutions provider; CRYOPDP, specializing in time-critical pharmaceutical transport; and IDS Fulfillment, an e-commerce service provider. These acquisitions reinforce DHL’s ability to offer end-to-end supply chain solutions in an increasingly complex logistics landscape.

Kunar has emphasized the importance of aligning these new assets with DHL’s broader operational network, ensuring customers benefit from seamless service and expanded capabilities. His leadership comes as supply chain needs continue to transform due to rising e-commerce volumes, sustainability demands and the need for resilient, technology-enabled logistics.

Charting a course for operational excellence

Looking ahead, Kunar has signaled his commitment to leveraging DHL Supply Chain’s extensive resources to maintain its position as a leading contract logistics provider in North America. His stated goal is to balance innovation with operational excellence, delivering value to customers while managing a diverse workforce spread across two countries.

As CEO, he will report directly to Oscar de Bok, CEO of DHL Supply Chain globally, who has expressed confidence in Kunar’s ability to lead the region into its next phase of growth and performance. The transition marks a pivotal point as DHL Supply Chain positions itself to tackle industry shifts and deliver sustainable solutions that meet customer expectations.
